On December 12, 2022, the first song from the film named ‘Besharam Rang’ was unveiled.
Shahrukh Khan’s movie “Pathan” got a censor certificate of U/A from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Many controversial scenes were deleted making the total length of part one 1 hour and 10 minutes and part two 1 hour and 16 minutes in his film “Pathan”. This brings us up to a total time of about two hours and twenty-six minutes.
Storyline
In Kashmir, the film’s plot revolves around the removal of Article 370 which causes chaos in Pakistan. Enter a secret terrorist organization known as Outfit X led by Jim (John Abraham), an Indian soldier who has become a militant after being overwhelmed by hatred of his motherland.
Jim’s malevolent scheme involves releasing a deadly virus on India that could bring it down within minutes. In exile but loyal to his country, Pathan is called upon to prevent this impending threat when the nation is about to collapse. Besides him is Rubina (Deepika Padukone) bound together with him on account of their mission to defend their nation.
Nevertheless, as Pathan commences on this perilous adventure, treachery looms large and threatens everything. Can he stop his nation from experiencing the worst terror plot? The story develops into a fast-paced drama filled with unexpected twists upon investigation into deeper layers of treason.
Pathan Film Controversy:
The release of its first song ‘Besharam Rang’ caused the Pathan film controversy to escalate so fast. The attire worn by actress Deepika Padukone where she had a saffron bikini inflamed Hindus leading to massive protests from the Vishwa Hindu Parishad as they demanded immediate action by filmmakers to remove offensive scenes.
Giriraj Singh, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member of Parliament (MP), criticized Shahrukh Khan and others in Bollywood for mocking Hinduism through films.
A charge sheet filed at a court in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district claimed that the song “Besharam Rang” which formed part of their Pathan movie inappropriately affected Hindus’ religious feelings.
