Quick analysis tool Excel

In this tutorial, we learn about the Quick analysis tool Excel and its amazing features. The quick analysis tool allows the user to quickly analyze data. This provides the most used features in data analysis in Excel. So you do not have to go to the ribbon and do extra work to find these features. It saves your time.

Where is Quick Analysis tool in Excel

First of all, the quick analysis tool Excel is not available in the early versions of Excel. The Quick analysis tool was first introduced in Excel 2013.

This tool option is not available in the ribbon and you are not able to find it in the Excel.

The tool icon pops up automatically when you select the data you want to calculate the small icon shows on the lower side of the selected range of the cell.

There is another method to show the Quick Analysis tool icon in Excel by shortcut key Ctrl + Q.

How to use Quick Analysis in Excel

The features you get in the Quick Analysis Excel. This tool is not unique it contains the most common feature used for data analysis in the ribbon in Excel. The main aim of this tool is that you can feature much faster in Excel.

Now see all the options in the Excel available in the Quick Analysis tool.

Conditional formatting

The option you see in this tool is conditional formatting. In this option of conditional formatting, you will see more options for conditional formatting according to data.

Conditional formatting uses the rules to highlight the interesting data.

Keep in mind these options will be changed according to your data. For example, if you have Text data you will see the option text, Duplicate, Unique value, Equal to, Clear.

In other scenarios, if you have data then options will be changed automatically. There is a shortcut key for that which is Ctrl + Q + F.

Charts

The Charts option will show you the most recommended charts based on the data in the selected range. This will show your data in graphs.

Click the insert option.

The insert chart dialog box is a pop-up select the graph that you want to insert and click the ok button.

The shortcut key for that option is Ctrl + Q + C.

Totals

This option is handy if you want fast calculations like sum, average, count, %total, and running.

You select the range of cells in the sheet you want to calculate. The shortcut key for this tool is Ctrl + Q + O.

Tables

If you have data and want to convert this tool into the table form. This work can be done by using the quick analysis tool Excel. This option also has a Pivot Table option. The Quick Analysis tool Excel will help you to arrange data.

The shortcut key for this option is Ctrl + Q + T.

Sparklines

The last option in this tool is Sparklines. This tool will immediately insert the in-cell charts that do amazing work and enhance your data visualization.

The keyboard shortcut for this is  Ctrl + Q + S.

Examples of the Quick Analysis tool Excel

Here we see some useful examples where we use this tool.

This example will show you the age column in the chart.

First, select the age column, and the Quick Analysis tool icon shows up in the bottom.

In the chart option, the cluster icon appears click on it.

This will give the following output.

In the next option, we find the duplicate in the text data. Here is an example.

First of all, Select all the data in the column.

The Quick analysis tool Excel is pop-up.

Now select the Duplicate icon in the formatting.

Next, we use the sum option.

I have data with a column for the academy fund in which I want to calculate the sum of all the values at the bottom of the table in the sheet to give the sum of all the values.
